Our Story: Corliss' Battle

The Corliss Johnson Memorial Foundation was created following the death of my wife, Corliss, who died in 2003 after a battle with cancer. Our daughters, Zoe and Lexi, were only 5 and not quite 2 years old when Corliss was taken from us.

Corliss was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer five months after our youngest daughter was born. Our lives were turned upside down. During her 19-month battle and treatment, she never gave up, she never lost her will to move forward, and never lost her desire to help others. That was evident from her participation in a clinical trial with Dr. Mary Mulcahy at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Corliss took this new challenge head on. She tried not to let her treatment affect her life. She would be out on the soccer field the day after her chemo treatment. She did this treatment every week for almost 18 months. Corliss insisted that life go on as planned for her family.

Our promise is that 100% of net proceeds will be used to help fight cancer and to assist those that are fighting cancer. Our small foundation is trying to make a difference in this war against cancer.

We hope you will join us in our fight! Thank you!
